Brunswick IR nr. 92 (or Braunschweig in German) Offz. der Landwehr 1886 - 1918
Helmet plate is Prussian Linienadler with motto "Mit Gott für Fuerst und Vaterland" and banner with "Peninsula". On the Adler the order of "Heinrich der Löwe". Worn by active officers between 1886 and 1912 in this regiment, except for the III. Batallion, whose officers wore the same Wappen but with the deaths head know as "Apothekertotenkopf". From 1912 untill the end of the Graet War all active officers (so including 1. and II. Batallion)wore this latest helmet. From 1886 to the end of the war, Offz. der Reserve ALWAYS had to wear the helmet with the order, without motto on the eagle but with a little white metal cross with the same motto as above mentioned. Officers of the Landwehr wore the same helmet but without the banner "Peninsula". Very rare helmet indeed.
