I have not seen many of this type, are they considered rare?, also do you think everything looks okay, judging by my example?

all the best Patrik

There are a number of excellent publications, especially Danish ones in English translation. Weaver's is like an extended "Osprey" publication with a lot of details on the specific units involved as well as their uniforms. Fascinating war to study for its transition from Napoleonic tactics. It was fought at the same time as the 1848 revolutions that were rocking the European aristocracies. Some of our US ancestors participated in this war to promote the federation but the dissolution of the Frankfurt National Assembly and the subsequent Schleswig Holstein defeat led to a major immigration to North America. Bismarck then came up with some alternative ideas for German unification.

Weaver, Ralph
2007 The Armies of the First Schleswig Holstein War 1848-1851. Partizan Press.

The war was celebrated in art and some works are regarded masterpieces.

I like this painting of the Danish hussars and dragoons surprising a unit of Schleswig-Holstein dragoons in their kürassier-style helmets .
