Hello everyone!

Could you give me some information about this haube? I'm going to buy this one and what I you thinking about it? Is it ok? And what is the normal price for the helmet?
Could you help me understand what are the marks on the helmet?
Sorry for the poor quality of the photos.

Thank you in advance.
Yaro

This helmet is an 1895 pattern Infantry enlisted man's. It was issued to a member of the 3rd Battalion 11th Company of the 3rd Lorraine Infantry Regiment Nr.135 in 1903 and re-issued in 1904. The 135th was a Line Infantry regiment that was raised in the 1880's.

It's in reasonably good condition but is missing the Prussian and Reichs cocades as well as the leather chinstrap. You'll have to find original cockades and a good quality repro chinstrap which will cost about $150 - $200.

I would agree on the above comments. Advice we give but value we don't do.

Look at other sites and dealers to see what they are going for...price depends on many factors, unit markings make it more interesting but this one is missing pieces that originals to replace will cost you more money.

The price is what you are prepared to pay and how much you want it. Bargains are few and far between these days and if it has a low price be wary! There will always be people who say you have overpaid.......the question is what is it worth to you in terms of pleasure of owning the object.

Oscar Wilde summed it up "a cynic knows the price of everything but the value of nothing."

Good luck with your collecting.

cheers

Tony

Hi Yaro,
Welcome to the forum.
The Pickelhaube seems to be in a reasonable condition, untouched, nicely stamped, but as mentioned it's missing some (expensive) parts.
There is typically a big price difference between online militaria dealers and Ebay, so not so easy to arrive at a reasonable price for this helmet.
Provided there are no "double holes" under the Wappen I would pay 250-400 USD.
Regards,
Lars
