Please help identify!

Hello, I am new to this forum. I have just purchased this pickelhauben, that I suspect is fire related given the large wide spine and the lion on the cocade. I can't find much else about it. Given the decoration and quality, I would also suspect it was for someone quite high in rank.
The only markings are on the disk inside, but they are not easy to read given some surface rust.

any help to identify and about value would be appreciated.

Hello,
it is defenetly a fireman, indeed high ranking, but that is as far as I can go.
Fireman helmets are quiet hard to ID, but judging by the chinstrap; I would say Austria....
I like it a lot.

I would agree with Kris. Do the chinscales fit on the helmet? It would be interesting to see it with them on. Who ever owned it, I doubt it was for every-day duty... but then, I don't know much about these helmets.

The chinscales do not appear to have anywhere to attach anymore - there is some minor soldering on the inside where I suspect they were supposed to attach. The colouring of the chinscales does match that of the rest of helmet design, so I am certain they belong.
It is also missing the lion cockade on the other side, but otherwise this thing is in great condition.

This helmet is for sale, by the way - Fire is not my area of collecting. Given the ornate design I was certain it was valuable, so I took a risk.
asking $800 plus shipping. I am located in Saskatchewan, Canada by the way.

I might be intrested but price is some how to excessive to me.
I have to keep taxes and parcel cost in mind too...
