Hey guys just to let you KNOW! I was contacted by a man named Pawel Nowak from Poland. He said he found me through the forum. He was making me amazing offers that were to good to be true! Cheap prices for helmets that are worth thousands of dollars. But he would only accept payment through money wire transfer, lots of excuses why he can't do PayPal and other methods. I did some research on him and found out he is a total scam artist and has been doing this for years and he's on Ebay as well. You can read numerous threads of members getting ripped off on: http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=311468.

SO LOOK OUT FOR PAWEL NOWAK GUYS!!!!!!!!!! :-x

Hey Max,
Glad you figured this one out , we have discussed him before, wire transfers are not something you want to do under any circumstance, it is usually a tip off of a rip off.

Yes we know much about this guy Max. he hit on you because you are new to the forum. He is not a member as far as I know but he can access as a guest. All members be aware.....too good a deal is always a dead give away for criminal seduction. Brian

Darned Poles. Seriously, thanks for the heads up! Surprising he hasn't hit on me with my last name.

Hello:

Thank you for your answer. I have got these items as a payment for my archival research work. But I also detect some places with my metal detector and I have found some items personaly. I am an archivist and I live in Poland (EU). I am 35 and I was educated in the University of Lodz (International Public Law Faculty). But my main interest is archival research. Diving and sailig also. I spend a lof of time in the archives and museums. Where I have a lot of friends. For example I know Cmdr. Ltd. David Watters who was a Deputy Director in National Maritime Museum in London. I have also friends in Ministry of Defence in UK.

If you have an interest in the pickelhaubes, I can sell them for 320$ each.

Frankly, I am looking for someone I could cooperate in the future as I can get more genuine items from my close friends.

I am waiting for your answer.

All the best.

Pawel

Seems to me he sent this letter to me years ago....it sounds very familiar. It is a real scammer attempt to create the impression that he has legit connections, access to archives and museums, relics and collector friends. Plus of course cheap hauben! A real con artist. Brian

Yeah I must have got 10 or 12 emails from him, some with pics of him self (he claims). Hey Brian by the way, Did you see my other post in the discussion section about the Regiment stamp? What do you think?
