Policeman or fireman?

Hello.
Can you help me with ID of this helmet. Who it was?
Or this is not correct plate for this pickel?

Thanks a lot. :)

I'm afraid I'm one of the least knowledgable members here, but I believe you have an artillery helmet, but the front plate, or wappen, is for a Prussian policeman. If that's not correct, then you have a police helmet with an incorrect artillery ball instead of a spike.

I believe the helmet is either a Preußen M 1895 kommunalen Exekutivpolizei or Schutzmannschaft helmet. The artillery Kugel is a later, and incorrect, addition that appears to have been soldered to the spike neck.

The finial should be a short, conical spike with a rounded top and small ball at its apex.

Hi,

I checked the book of Erich Radecke, "polize-abzeichen" and couldn't find the FWR on the eagle. The eagle is definitely the one for "beampten" (administration). The Prussian exekutivPolizei or the schutzmannschaft (at least in this book) only had the FW or a W. So I would say it is something else, based upon that source...

Best regards,

Michel
