Good Morning Gentlemen,

I decided to spoil myself after this last cruise and bought myself a few helmets, the first being a nice complete GR. 109 haube, it is fairly tarnished but you can see how clean and shiny it once was when you unscrew the spike, the next is a baden M95 haube which might not have ever been issued as it has no marks on the inside and is absolutely mint condition, the final being a nice bavarian M15. As always thoughts and opinions are welcome.

Many Thanks,
USN

I will definitely be making some individual posts as soon as I get home from work!

I have a Wappen for the 109th,, a shoulder strap, a songbook, some postcards and two steins to Reservists in the same company in the same year, but never found a helmet. But I have a feeling that might change.

I posted some better photos of this one in the discussion forum.

Weitze has several enlisted Baden 109 helmets for sale
It depends on what condition and how much that you want to pay
I would also try AOK .If one is not listed , contact them and let them know that
you are looking for a Baden 109 e m
they get new stock all the time

Steve:

Thanks for providing these leads regarding potential sources. I appreciate you taking the time. I have looked at Weitze and AOK occasionally, but only as a means of gauging prices. I know I could have a 109th tomorrow if I wanted one that badly.

We all have our own motivations and strategies for collecting. I have never purchased a helmet from a dealer. I have several money sucking hobbies and this is just one of them. I have acquired my modest collection through dealing with other collectors, local auctions, sometimes via eBay etc. To me, this is part of the attraction of this pastime. The hunt and the wheeling dealing is what I enjoy.

Like I said, we all have our own motivations for being in this hobby. In my case, if I won the lottery and had unlimited funds, I probably wouldn't be doing this.
