It's similar to the one-piece lacquered felt helmet in the Kraus book, but this one has sewn-on visor and neckguard pieces and seems to be made of pressed fiber. :-k
 
I am no expert on shako's but I don't recall seeing anything decent from this seller [-(

Certainly is an 'interesing' piece there. I don't see anything I like about it, just looks wrong from the mushy detail on the eagle to the blobby shape of the body and field badge... nope, nope, nope and nope. I wonder which high school marching band used this one, 'back in the day' ...

I agree - that eagle has been cut out using a pair of tin snips! Look at the cross on the top of the crown, it is still square on the right hand side. I can't see any authentic wappen being shipped out of the factory looking like that.
 
The biggest give away to this fake is the front visor.......no rolled edge along the front. All shako front visors have a rolled edge to them.
