Prussian 16th Dragoon officer

With the help of a friend out west, I finally was able to get this Prussian 16th Dragoon officer helmet with Waterloo bandeau.

Came out of a old gun collector collection.

Silver trim which is uncleaned, but overall great shape.

now one of my favorites.

This is really, really nice! Fantastic find. Will you be able to refrain from cleaning?... This untouched condition is lovely. Shiny silver parts and matt plated eagle would also look great though. A dilemna...

thanks guys!

I will not clean Bruno, just wipe off dust etc. I try not to polish my helmets.

That is a terrific find!!! What a knockout of helmet! Very happy it went into the right hands!

Great helmet ! I love those helmets with front plates that have battle honors .
I have used warm water and a little ammonia with a soft toothbrush to remove dirt only
some like to leave them " as found "
I understand both views .
