Prussian Artillery, new to the collection :)

17EB091F-57BF-4C4D-AB1E-240E65F06F9D.jpegHey folks!

Was able to pick this nice thing up, I will send some photos soon. Also picked up a regular Prussian infantry. Now I have the three “basics”, finally. Gold wappen and fittings, for artillery and infantry, and then the grey fittings for infantry too.

Looking forward to growing the collection.

I will add a nice photo of the inside later!

Let me know your thoughts.

Cheers!

What’s the possible value of a haube like this? I paid roughly 800€, hope it wasn’t too much! I quite like it. Condition is overall great, previous owner had it for 30+ years and he got it from a house clearance in Germany. So I don’t think anybody has really messed with it!

Let me know your thoughts, cheers guys!

A very nice Fuss-artillerie helmet, Fuss artillerie as the rear spine has no vent on it, Feld artillerie helmets did have the vent.
Nicely marked and all correct, a great helmet for a good price.

oh! So a “heavier” artillery unit? Can anybody tell me more about any markings?

According to the 1903 Bekleidungsordnung § 40 B the Feldartillerie didn't have the vent, so imo the Feldartillerie-Regiment 22 marking fits the helmet type. The Feldartillerie typically marked with "FAR", and there was no Fußartillerie-regiment 22 in 1905 (nor in 1914) :)

Lars

It is the other way around, Coert. The helmets M1895 and M1915 of the field artillery had no ventilation slide on the rear spine. The reason behind this was that it was a mounted unit.

I now know that, was confused by the post about a Fuss artillerie helmet, which was corrected by Clovis today.. It was indeed the other way around..
