Prussian Arty Helme from Poland

I have been approached over the net by a guy in Poland who wants to sell me a Prussian M15 OR's helme. The helme is marked to Westfalisches Fus Arty Regt #7. VIIAK The helme has a regular infantry spike on it but obviously with these markings it is an Arty helme. I was wondering if anyone else has had a contact from Poland with pictures of this helme?? The front visor trim has a split in it. Help!! Brian

I have received similar offers in the past, but not this helm, One needs to be careful with offers from Poland, I do not know if the law has been changed, but in the past it was not allowed to send antiquities from APoland with out a export permit. I believe that 1945 was the cut off.

The more I read his emails the more that I know that this is a scam...a museum researcher who has to be paid quickly because he is going on a business trip. He speaks good English though ha ha!! I figured that some of you guys would have been contacted. Brian

I have also had an email from this person. I thought at first that it was someone, who I might of dealt with on Ebay. But, I did not regonized his name. So, I thought scam and deleted the email. It did not say anything about a museum. Just that he had some items and pickelhaubes for sale and thought that I would be interested.

I have top admit that I opend his first email, because I have a good friend from Poland named Tomek, but all subsiquent emails go straight to the dust bin.

I must admit that I was tempted by this guy but the acceptance of my counter offer on his M15 was too quick plus the need for speed in completing the transaction set off alarm bells in my head. I backed off once I had read these posts. I see in this mornings' posts, that he has attempted this rip off with other collectors. Brian
 
He contacted me after I joined this sight. Everything that he offered was to cheap to be corect. It is a ruff world out there.
