Prussian Car Pennant

Brian ;
I think that it is the real deal .
As I said it was offered at $ 175
Don't know what you paid
and none of my business
but who is going to do all of that work for $ 175 ?
Besides until now 'no one knew what or who it is
If you have something made up
you have it made so that it is easy to I D
IMO

Now what you do is for that name in the Prussian
Rang List to see if any in the family served in
the I G Armee

Thanks Steve, I agree, it is just too well made to be fake and as you say why bother embroidering an eagle which at first sight seems ridiculous. However, we now know thanks to members that in fact, certain noble families did have this unusual eagle on their coat of arms. As far as Rang liste, I do not have access to those unless, they are on the net?? The story continues....

Send me the family name
I will see what I can find
I have the Rang List solid from the 1914 -18
back past 1900
then some that skip going back other years
earlier than 1900

or you know what ?
someone way better than me with something
like this ?

Have you black lighted that yet Brian? I don't think it's a question of is it real or not, I think it's a matter of how old is it. Car pennants are very commonly used today by nobility, diplomats etc.

I think my single flag is from the Kaisers yacht :D

You're probably right. You could take a Sharpie and write "SMS Bismarck" across the top and sell it for a fortune.

I'm thinking of buying an "India" or "I" flag and selling it as a Japanese negative.

John :D
