This fine helmet once belonged to a Belgian collector, then ended up in France, and now,
it crossed the border once again. :)

Regimental stamp : K.A.R. 1907 size 59
The makers stamp sais “ … Becker & Co / Berlin” the first initial(s) not so clear.

Nicely done Ed. Simply no better M91 + Garde helmet than one that has the Infanterie M91 flat scales. Nicely done and superb on-purple photos as always. :thumbright:

A great find indeed, love the top condition and markings. And as Tony said flat scales, very hard to find.

Thank you very much gentlemen, fort he nice reactions. :thumb up:

I believe so Steve, I have already seen this stamp two times before and I think it is a variant of the
K.A.G.G.R.1 mark .

I like big size helmets ,they fit on my big head….

Help me out here please. Am I correct that the PH for this regiment were hard to find with the chinscales....as these were interchangable to be worn on the mitre....At least that is what I think I remember from Larcade....Correct me please.
Thank you gentlemen!

Checked my volume 1, chapter 4: the men only had one pair chinscales. For both Haube and mitre. White metal.. So guess: other regiment. I'm not so much into foot troops gear.

I think the Kaiser Alexander Garde Grenadier Mitre has rounded scales but I could be wrong.

Tony is da man for such hard questions 8-)

The Kaiser Alexander miter has its own unique chinscales, not readily removable and not interchangeable with the pickelhaube. The First Foot Guard miter did utilize the same scales as the pickelhaube.

Thank you Steve! Thank you Ed for sharing the pics of yet another top piece in your collection.
To me it is prove that one is never too old to learn.
:-?

Yes that is pretty much correct
The miters of the 1st Garde Regiment zu Fuss
after they changed to the "new " silver front miters
had side lugs just like their spiked helmets .
The silver , flat chin straps could be removed from
the miter and worn on the spiked helmet
I have an enlisted helmet for the 1st G R zu Fuss
and the chin straps are rather large for the spiked helmet
but would be a better fit for the larger miter .

The KAGGR# 1 is another story .
They were handed down the old miter of the
1st G R zu Fuss for their parade wear.
The chin straps do not have the side lugs to fit on
The Grenadiers are held in place with the flaming bombs
and the Fusilier Batl. with side screws .
