Hello,

after my officer M/1871 now I got the helmet I was actually searching, a M/1867 enlisted man Pickelhaube.
Great condition, but obviously modified after 1871, as the Linienadler Wappen is attached with threaded bolts instead of the sliders.
One of the bolts of the Wappen is broken so You can see the hole from the inside which appears to me as enlarged. The other bolt is fixed with double washers and the usual square nut.
That doesn't bother me as one cannot see the modification from the outside.

Well done, a beautiful M67, whose M71 eagle is not detectable from the outside. The important thing is that the M71 rear spine hasn't been added. Actually, it's an M60 Eagle (the new M67 is slightly different).

The feathers on the abdomen form a V, and the tail begins with an iIi. The Vaterland band extends to the tips of the wings.

New design of the M67 eagle (with vertical clips) and, on the right, the same but in the M71 version (return to square screws and nuts).
The Vaterland banner no longer extends to the edge of the wings but is set back by 2 or 3 mm.
The feathers on the abdomen are now vertical. Those at the base of the tail are now arranged in a vVv pattern. The paw holding the orb is enormous and oversized.

Could try, but they are so large I only can unfold them in the open and it rains for the next week here. Would some extracts be enough?
