Offered for sale is a nice Prussian enlisted pattern Model 1915 Tschapka with Yellow Rabatte. This is the type with the fixed mortarboard. The metal fittings appear to be original to the helmet, since the helmet is date marked 1915 inside.
Complete with an original chinstrap and National Kokarde.
Size "54" marked. 1915 Dated. "Alexandar Dahl, Helm Fabrik, Bahrmen" maker marked.
Exterior finish is in good condition. There are a couple of spots where the helmet finish rubbed against something, or it may have sat in a warm attic resting against something which caused the spot on the wearer's back right side of the tschapka, and on the wearer's back left side of the tschapka. This can be seen in my photos.
No extra holes behind wappen. Original leather wedges hold wappen in place. I have not removed the wappen from the tschapka.
I added the original chinstrap. It seems to be an ersatz type of material with a pigskin texture to the outside surface of the chinstrap.
The yellow Rabatte came with this tschapka. Yellow was worn by Ulan Regiment 11 and 15.
When I removed the rabatte to take photos of the mortarboard, I did not clean the dust residue from the mortarboard, as can be seen in photos.
The front metal visor trim has bent a bit in the center area of the visor. When I acquired the tschapka in February of this year, the visor trim had popped off the leather visor a bit in the center front area. It fits better now but still needs a bit of adjustment work on the visor trim piece. I will let the new owner do this if they choose to do so.
This tschapka will make a nice addition to any collection.
