Hi fellow collectors!
What are you thinking about this felt helmet? Beautifully marked, but maybe too beautiful and too clean to be a real one?...(Regiment markings are pretty scarce indeed on felt-Ersatz Hauben...)
Thank you guys for your opinion!
Phil

Regimental markings are common on felt helmet... fakes. But this one is an exception. Looks to me authentic and excellent!

Compare with this one for instance...

I would think that the helmet itself is definitely fine. It is not a bargain price but still in the normal range for a nice piece. I would request more pictures though, showing the rear, complete inside etc. Note that the seller mentions a repair.

The stamps are really exceptionally clear. Also I have not seen a set of BA and regimental stamps that match so well on a felt helmet yet.

What price, Robert? He did not mention any price. I did not even know this helmet was for sale.

The helmet is currently on ebay with a buy-it-now option (190371683267), sorry for not mentioning. From the two pictures I think the helmet itself is fine although I am not shure about the stamps. In any case I would recommend to request more pictures before buying.

I have already asked a few times for more pictures of the liner, the eagle , the rear spine and the "prussian" side, but no reactions from the seller... As I asked if he takes paypal, he answered very quickly...
Also no answer to my question about double holes...
Hmmmmm

I agree and it is also unusual. This is the very first marking I have seen for BaXX.

a very unusual unit also. I like it.
