Hi all, this one came in the other month from a friend in the UK. Really happy with it and its solid condition

I’m bad with forums and don’t know how to tag people, so if someone could please tag Tony Schnurr, that would be appreciated because I believe this was one of his and can be observed on Kaiser’s Bunker.

It appears that the wappen is actually off center if you look closely. The chinstrap was torn on one side and has a superficial postwar repair. Lastly, the liner is a teensy loose in a couple places. Aside from that, a very attractive piece.

Your helmet is with all the trim and front plate in Feldgrau
very nice
Here is my felt Garde Infantry which was set up with the prewar front plate
also my Garde Artillery in the same manner

Is your forum name a bourbon? Your Garde Ersatz was found in Southern Ontario, and hand carried by me to Calgary Alberta around 1990. Nice helmet.
I think that you are talking about Wild Turkey . Right now i serve
myself 2 shots of Wild Turkey 101 proof. If you're drinking from the 1/2 gallon
you're drinking mighty smart .

Came up with it one thanksgiving after squirting Sriracha on my Turkey and used it as a gaming username for years. I’ve actually tried to change the forum user to my real name but no admins have approved yet.

I appreciate it, and had hoped for the background story when I posted this. I used your website for many years as groundwork for my collecting, so it was surreal to have the opportunity to own something of which I’d seen so many times in the past.

Do you recall this helmet having extra holes? Because when I removed the wappen and noticed the original holes were “widened” to accommodate the garde Eagle. I’ve been told however that this is normal as the shell could’ve come out of the factory with holes already cut in.
