Prussian Inf. EM M1895 Pickelhaube

This one ended without a sale although price seems fair for a complete original 1895 spike helmet, or isn't it?
Is it the fact that M15 are more in demand or is anything simply wrong with it?

Looks like a decent helmet to me, but I think a starting price of $860 is perhaps a bit too much for a standard helmet albeit a nice one.

Hey Edwin, this was actually a Buy it Now or Best Offer which is why I found it weird that no one attempted to make an offer...

I agree that the starting price / buy it now may have scared some people away. This helmet isn't without issues. The chinstrap leather appears to be replaced (which isn't a big deal for me), the liner is missing a tab and the visor trim is on its way to cracking through in one spot. Also, the seller doesn't mention markings, which are important to a purchase of that price. I guess it just didn't 'speak' to anybody.

Guys, what the smallest size ever made for a wartime Pickelhaube?
Look at this tiny little haube; almost looks like a kinder's helmet: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170692458636?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It seems it's a 53 1/3. Does this size make any sense? Isn't this way too small for an adult's haube and does that wappen look sound to you (despite the s**tty pictures*)?

(*) I'm a marketeer; I don't understand how in the 21st century people still expect to sell their old 'stuff' online to complete strangers for inflated sums of money with this kind of advertising/photos :-x

Het Ron,
Don't you think this is some sort of kinder helmet? I know the liner looks like any regular War Bond (mint) liner but isn't "53 1/3" too small a size? At least this is how small the seller told me it was...
