Hello Gentlemen,
A friend sent me a close-up of the removable spike base on his Prussian Officer Helmet thus making it an M1915...
I noticed however that the oxidized grey spike fitting isn't bayonet-style (like the 2 ones I've seen on this site) but rather a regular screw-type.
Is this wrong or was it peculiar to certain makers?

How I'd love to put my hands on an Officer M15 Guard Haube! I'd probably want to be burried with it...

I wanted to announce this ala Tony and kill you with the suspense but it turns out I'm teasing myself...
That BEAUTIFUL wartime piece you barely see in the above photo--one of my most wanted items after the M15 Kurassier--is actually my recently 'stolen' Prussian M15 Officer Pickelhaube :D .
I had it shipped to my friend and former college mate in Montreal as usual and was hoping I'd get to travel there for the holidays in December to take my own photos and bring it back with me but it turns out my mother wouldn't let me spend Christmas eve without her this year either (attending midnight mass in our mountain village has been a tradition in our family ever since my father passed).
The pictures you're about to see in another thread were taken by my friend who's not much of a talented pickelhaube photographer--he didn't even bother screw the spike back on!--so I'll have to toss in a couple of the seller's photos... These will surely ring a bell or two 8-)
