Offered for sale is a nice condition OD89 Model Prussian Infantry Officer Sword with fixed crossguard.

Nickel scabbard is dent/ding free. There is a bit of wear to the nickel finish on one edge of the scabbard, on the edge with the two hanger rings. Otherwise, the finish is nice. The camera flash makes a distortion on the scabbard and the blade. There is no denting on the blade or scabbard.

Blade has No maker mark.

Finish on the blade is good. There is a bit of oxidation near the top of the blade on the front side. I believe it will clean up. I have left it as I found it a few weeks ago.

The fixed crossguard with Prussian eagle has very nice mercury fire gilting intact.

Grip is in good shape. The tiny twisted wire is missing on one side of the larger wire in a couple of areas. I have tried to show this in my photos.

This sword will make for a nice addition to any collection.

Now at $300 or "Best Offer". Same terms as above.

You're not going to find one of these on eBay in this nice of condition at this price, plus having to pay your state sales tax on eBay.

I can't really do anything about the shipping cost with the postal service, because they're going to "ding" me on the oversize length of the package, unfortunately. United Parcel Service will do the same thing on a box this long. I will get "surcharged" on it.

I would love to be able to mail this to someone in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, or any number of countries in Europe.

I am guessing it would be very cost prohibitive to mail it to a member living outside of the USA. I also do not know which countries other than the U.K. which do not allow importing of swords into their country any longer.

I don't think it will go to Europe, with the legislation on weapons (bladed weapons)
Otherwise I would have bought this one, but it's banned in Belgium.

It won't get mailed anywhere outside of the US. A long package like this with a sword makes for a not-so-great situation with having to pass through customs going outbound from the US, and inbound into customs in any country in the world when being mailed.

It was simply a nice, wishful thinking comment when I said that I would love to be able to mail this to someone in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, or any number of countries in Europe.

I should have been smarter and avoided the temptation to buy it a few weeks ago, since swords are always a challenge to ship, and to also carry around to shows.
