Prussian Kürassier M1915 Metalhelme

Would I be too picky in ruling this one out too because it has a line infantry wappen (instead of the cavalry's), a pristine spike that doesn;t seem to match the rest of the helmet, not to mention the chinstrap which looks fake?
It is a Lachmann after all and does come with the large cav. cockades... :-k ](*,)

If you are looking for a helmet of clean pedigree, I would suggest to leave this one alone. On the other hand you can always upgrade this one with original parts, but I'm afraid that this will be a costly excerise (speaking from experience).

Best regards,

Looks like a parts helmet, good parts, with the exception of the chinstrap. I think the spike and spike base are original but maybe not to this helmet. The seller usually has some good stuff and his description is honest for example the call out on the repro chinstrap.

I agree with you guys, this one is quite tempting, but knowing how picky I am and since I only want 1 EM M15 Lachmann, I'll be stuck with it knowing that it needs a Kuerassier wappen--which I sense would be awfully hard to find by itself--and a chinstrap--not easy either... Besides, price will go beyond reason on this one I'm pretty sure as most people won't notice/don't know about the Line wappen... ](*,)

But what about the inside paint, do you think it's wartime or repainted?

I've seen a lot of war time Kurassier helmets with line eagles (hence my former post wondering about this... :-k ) I still wonder if during the war they went for the Prussian wappen and would put on a line eagle when needed. For all I know (emphasis on the 'I'), this could be the original eagle on this helmet.

SOLD for $1,407.99... I thought it would fetch a bit more, even with the wrong wappen and a fake chinstrap :???:
