Is this one all OK you think?

Perhaps there is nothing wrong with it, but in several pictures I don't like the color of the wappen although this may be an artefact caused by the (flash?) light. This is one of these cases that you actually need to hold and smell it in order to be sure of its authenticity.

Is this not the wrong wappen for Land Gendarmerie? I thought they were issued with the Grenadier wappen (the one with the curly hand guard) This seems to be a guard eagle.

I'm the seller of this helmet, it is as found, and it had a nice smell,

anyway, there's a 7 days inspection, and I refund if there is any problem,

I was as well surprised by the marking that I found hidden inside the helmet, I bought it for a Gard helmet and found out that it was issued to a Gendarmerie unit, considering that LG means Landgendarmerie

I am myself a Gendarme 8)

If it is a landgendarmerie helmet which the markings seem to imply, it has had the wappen replaced at some point in the past. There is an earlier post regarding LG helmets and I had a very similar issue with my own LG helmet, which also came with a Guard wappen and not a Guard grenadier wappen.

I guess its an easy swap for people, as the wappen swap right over with no problem (at least on my helmet) my Guard eagle fits snugly on the LG helmet and visa versa.

I`m not 100% sure if LG helmets were also issued with a Guard eagle, but all I read about when I was researching mine pointed to it being a Guard grenadier, the one with the curly hand guard. I believe the star was awarded in 1889 or there abouts, but don`t quote me on that.

Other than that this helmet looks good, but Im pretty sure its the wrong wappen.
