Prussian M95 Enlisted men

The helmet of Reservist Küner ,Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 35, second battalion, (Name in front visor).
Nice stamp 35 RIR 2B and size 55 ½ . This is a “ Rudolf Wiemer ” product.

Not a very spectacular helmet ,I know, but I love the history behind it;
RIR35 was part of the 6th Res. Division ,
In 1914, after battling in Louvain and Antwerp they headed towards the ocean ,but came to a halt at the Yzer by heavy resistance of Belgian and later supporting French troops. In November that year, they were transferred to the eastern front.

Very nice Ed, great markings and excellent condition. I really love the OR's helmes with markings, they make it so we can go beyond just the helmet and get into the History of the Regiment!
PS: I just checked our list of makers on Joe's site, he has it listed as Rudolf Weiner so your stamp says Weimer? Can you make out the town/city where Weimer was located? I think your stamp is more easily read than what we have, so perhaps send a close up to Joe when you can. Thanks, B

Ha yes Eric,but that’s only the short story ,actually RIR35 and RIR 26 managed to push through over the river Yzer and headed towards the railway ditch south of Pervijze ,but because of the holdup at the Yzer ,the Belgians had the time to open up the gates to the sea and allowed the land to flood.
This made any advancement impossible, at first the Germans thought this was the result of heavy rain, it never occurred to them that it was intended.
