Gents, what does it mean when an issued bayonet is double maker marked?
Here's one I recently got:

The best available information indicates that, in this case, the blade blanks were produced by Gottlieb Hammesfahr and sent to Schubert u. Salzer Maschinenfabrik for finishing. M98/05 bayonets with a Schubert u.Salzer Maschinengfabrik making have only been recorded with dates of 1917 and 1918.
See German Bayonets, The Models 98/02 and 98/05 by Anthony Carter, page 86.

Thanks R1.
Would there be another plausible scenario or would that be it?

Gents,
Which of the following 2 knots would you go for to complete the above or any S98/05nA (Prussian-proofed wartime) bayonet, if not both?
Knot 1:
> Is this a 1. Batt. 1. Ko. Troddel?
> Seller says it is soiled white & the strap is short hence a wartime model... Were all knots during WW1 shortened to comply?

Knot 2:
> Had the slider been red, it would've been a 1. Batt. 2. Ko. Troddel but the slider seems yellow so do you know what it stands for or is this a faded red slider (a possibility the seller suggests)?
> It seems the strap is short like Knot 1 but made of thin cotton rather than wool/not the typical strap material; a wartime repair or replacement?
