Prussian Sword Portepee or Bayonet Trodell

My oh my, you've got my drooling all over the place Minx. Damn! I've only recently found my first two, whilst I already have some 20 troddeln or something...
Certainly the Prussian and the Mecklenburg NCO are fabulous. So as I said, if you're ever interested in trading, feel free to let me know what you're looking for...

Here is another issue faustriemen for comparison. This one is dated 191? on the inside of the strap. Unfortunately the last digit in the date is not legible.

Super you guys, I'm absolutely amazed! It is nearly impossible to find these here in Belgium...
This one is for the mounted troops of MG units... but you probably already knew that.

Gents, these 3 Troddeln are currently on eBay...

Knot 1: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-WW1-German-Regimental-bayonet-knot-/170694195551?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27be2ab95f
> If I'm not mistaken, this is a Prussian 3.Batt./Abt. 9. Kompanie/Batterie Mannschaften Troddel; am I correct?
> If so, is it Infantry, Footartillery, Pioneer or all 3?
> Would it work with my Prussian Artillery M1973 sword?
> Doesn't the brush look a bit awkward?

Knot 3: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-WW1-German-Regimental-bayonet-knot-/170694194618?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27be2ab5ba
> Was ist das?!

According to seller, this is a mint/unused SAXON JAGER / MG UNITS NCO BAYONET TRODDEL WITH ORIGINAL STORE TAG... It costs as much as a bayonet!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWI-SAXON-JAGER-MG-UNITS-NCO-BAYONET-TRODDEL-ORIGINAL-STORE-TAG-/360396666596?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e950b6e4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The seller is wrong. The green in this case indicates Jäger, not Saxony. This appears to be an Oberjäger knot, equivalent to a infantry NCO knot. Used by most Jäger units. It has nothing to do with MG units.

Hey Chip,
Although it looks original, it is one expensive knot!! My grandma has similar knots hanging from her dining room curtains; maybe I should post a few on eBay soon?! :D
