This helmet along with a couple of others were delivered yesterday. There are no TB markings or date stamp and I am describing this as a TB helme because of the convex scales. Size marking: 60 cm. !! the largest OR helmet that I have ever owned/seen, Korps marking BAXVI. This is an issued helmet but there are no grommets in the wappen holes and again something new in my experience. No extra holes, no scratches on the spike support disc, The M91 posts are also slightly different than normal. Usually a post will have 2 small prongs which are inserted into the shell and bent back this piece does not have these.

The piece comes with a Reich kokarde on each side.

The rear visor needs to be restitched.

The liner is in excellent condition and we still have the original issued leather lace in place.

Another unusual feature...a capital F stamp ???? This usually indicates a repaired helmet which is now judged suitable for use in the "Field". I do not see any evidence of repairs here. Overall, the condition is excellent, there has been some shrinkage.... spine prongs have popped, split on underside of visor trim and of course rear visor stitching needs replacing. I would appreciate any explanation for this "F" stamp. This helmet has never been in collector hands/messed with.

I would say, F for Feldbrauchbar, as you suggested, Brian.

So do I. Maybe the spike has beeen changed, as TB helmest had screwables spikes for parade. This is not the case anymore here.

If Stamp of the XVI AK, we could have here a lothringisches TB16 helmet, Saarlouis.
