Question about Wappen

I purchased this plate many many years ago, believing it to be a put together plate. I had no information of a Wurttemberg plate ever having a Prussian Guard Star on it. I purchased it as I needed a guard star for another wappen I had that was missing one. I cut the split pin legs in order to remove the star (young and foolish), thinking I would replace the original loops and mount it on the other plate.
After removing the star I discovered that the split pin is the only means of attachment on the star, there were no signs of anything else ever being there. Would like some learned opinons on this wappen.
Thanks

Sorry for the quality of the photos, cameras don't like me.

Welcome to the forum. I have checked my references and there is no explanation for this wappen. I can find no examples of a Wurtt wappen with a Prussian Garde star on it. There are only 2 Wurtt units that even had a star, one is a dragoon Regt the other the 3rd company of a Kraftfahr Battalion. Both of these had white metal plates, not brass and a completely different motto on the star. So no explanation on your wappen. The use of screw posts indicates an older wappen pre 1890. However, I have never seen a 3 post Wurtt wappen before, they always have 2, never one soldered to the bandeau as we see here. Perhaps this was a reservist wappen with white metal cross initially and someone soldered a Garde star on it??
