Dear All,
This is another oddity in the world of French military headgear of WWI: a French Adrian helmet made by a manufacturer which failed to get the licence to issue the hemet to the regular troops due to its fragile construction. The manufacturer, Siraudin, then went on to manufacture the helmet only for officers with the proviso that it was not fit for wearing at the front. Nevertheless, many officers wore it at the front line. As a non-regular item, the helmet had all the features of an Adrian helmet without using the same parts.
