RARE GERMAN WWI PICKELHAUBE IMPERIAL SAXON INFAN HELMET

Hey Vhawk:
I just scoped out this helme on Ebay and was going to post but you beat me to it. I would say that the chin scales are from a French helmet. The liner looks good as does the trichter and wappen but what gets me is the lack of rear spine and no traces (holes) for one having been there. Filled in?? Brian

This is an older corpus. M1867 had no rear spine but there is stiching on the inside?!?!?!?! Sure do not see anything on the outside.

Hi

I agree with Joe: it is a M1867 shell. The chin scales look more Belgian than French. Anyway, they don't belong to this helmet!

Ha... I know what this is.. and you guys have not figured it out....

it's a VERY VERY rare........ Saxon officer that was assigned to the French military schools as a Surender Etiquette instructor... :D

Gave a darned good class on landscaping too, all roads were still well tree lined last time I was there (1980), making for comfortable marching - in the shade!
