I can’t’ believe nobody 's bidding on this ,do you realize how rare this is ? #-o ,if I didn’t have one of these already I would be all over it.
(It is original, I can compare, just some of the hooks are replaced.)

Yeah I saw this and it is on my watch list. But its always the dilemma, to cover or not to cover...that is the question!

You can always make a non-helmet form to display it. I wouldn't know an original of one of these from a cleverly aged fake... :?

Would you believe there’s no helmet under this cover ? I use Resin dummies.
I make those myself .



But I did put the Feldzeichen on just for the picture.
 
I was the high bidder. It arrived yesterday and is exactly as described. A tight fit, it now sits snugly atop a run-of-the-mill 1915 Prussian.
 
Joe, this one was $660 +/-. It's been so long since I last saw one sell I have no idea what the current cost might be.
 
Congratulations George, I think you got it for a very decent price on a real cover. As you said, a real one so seldom comes up for sale that I believe it is literally a seller's market on one of these, whatever someone is willing to spend for one.

I'm sorry that I'll be missing the SOS this year, and not be able to visit with you at this one.
