Repro Recomendations

Can anyone recommend a decent Pickelhaube Repro maker? Everything I find on Etsy and eBay looks like garbage. I’ve contacted spikehelmets.pl and they are no longer making Pickelhaubes. Specifically I want an M71 Line Infantry Pickelhaube as pictured below. But I will settle for any decent Line Infantry reproduction of any model year that I can wear. I found an original M71 for sale but it’s too small for my giant cranium!

Many years ago, used to do WWI Reenacting the kings at that time were Great War in Chambersburg when the stopped producing items then Shipperfabrik where the best. Shipperfabrik were then bought out by Man the Line years ago who a quick internet search will find.

I havent fought in an event for decades so I'm out of the loop and can't speak to the quality of what Man the Line are selling. Sometimes you can still find pieces made by Great War if they are not being sold as originals.

Hope this helps a bit. Most of the items I see now are made in China and Pakistan and sadly are junk which fall apart in the field.

Good luck and welcome to the forum. (y)

Even if you have the money, please don't wear originals even with the best intentions it never works out well and they deserve to be saved for future generations.

People where much smaller than today.
So finding one in your size is almost impossible...
I' ve got a lot of helmets and only one fits me...
It's a helmet from a general who was over 2 meters tall...

I only have a Saxon M15 which fits me. It is large!
Then again, I do not wear it. It is on display next to my other M15's.

Thank you. I did check mantheline and they’re out of stock unfortunately.

Also the leather shrinks and sadly cannot be stretched according to the restoration authority I’ve talked with

Hello! I can offer you an ersatz shako. The felt is lacquered, almost all the fittings are high-quality copies, and the original chin strap hooks have the manufacturer's markings. The size is large, with a circumference of 60-61 cm.
