Hello everybody,
I‘m very pleased to show you my latest find which finally arrives today
It‘s a „Landwehr“ Artillery-Officer Pickelhaube from around 1900. Unfortunately 2 star-bolts were missing when I bought it, but I have replaced it by 2 original bolts in similar color I have found. Now it is complete and I‘m very happy with it:
Inside was a Noticesheet with „Please don‘t sell! Victor von Thumen, around 1900“, but fortunately for me the seller ignored it
I can’t confirm that it is the name of original owner of the Helmet, because on the inner side of the Helmetbody was a pencil note „No 197 / 9“ and I did‘t find a „Victor v. Thumen or Thümen“ in a Reserve-Artillery-Regiments with one of this Numbers.
If somebody have an idea and these numbers would stand for something else than a Regiment or Bataillon, I would be happy for any suggestion which could clarify this conflict. To know the name of the wearer would be the icing on the cake :bravo:
