Reserve infanterie Regiment Nr 88 Hessian helmet

Hello
Here is my lastest find
One scarce Hessian helmet with RIR 88 marking
This reserve regiment (Reserve Division 21) is very particular because it have only one bataillon (II) with Grosserzoglin Hessische (Grand Ducal) origin wearing Hessian Helmet (homeland Worms)
the others two bataillons (I and III) with Hessian but no Grand Ducal origin wore prussian helmets (homeland Hanau)
This helmet have received one bullet which crossed this and have exploded the rear spine.
Of course the liner is very damaged
Regards

Very nice, though not for the poor guy who owned it.
I love helmets like this that have a story to tell.

I know, as a soldier, I cannot help but feel sorry for the man who's life went out in a blink. However, a very important example. Congratulations!

Excellent!! Congratulations. As Tony can testify, I have a stahlhelme in my collection with a similar bullet hole (in and out) which would have blown the back of the head off. Brian
