Retouched pictures and postcards

Do you have any pictures that where obviously retouched?

This is a colorized version of a well known postcard. Evidently the artist thought that spiked helmets without spikes just do not look right. Below is the original b/w version that I linked directly from Joe's Article.

On the black and white picture the pickelhaubes are without the spikes.

I image the artist's brush got smaller and smaller as he went down the line adding spikes. I wonder why he didn't try his hand at adding a wappen as well.
