I haven't been on this forum since before I joined the Army in 2009, haubes and history of the German Army were a big part of my life before I joined. Since I've gotten out I haven't thought or looked at my collection until the first time a few days ago, I've been collecting original Oberndorf Mausers and I think that's where my heart is now. Haubes used to give me butterflies in my stomach and I'd research them all day long, but that doesn't hold true anymore, maybe it's a physiological issues that reminds me of the Army lol. But in saying that, I'd like some of my collection to go to a proper custodian and honor this pieces like they deserve. I will be keeping my German Napoleonic pieces, but will be listing the following:

Mod 1860 Baden Landwehr shako

Bavarian felt haube

Two Prussian 1915 mod haubes

But in saying that I haven't researched or remembered anything about these guys in awhile so I forget what is what and I was wondering if you gentlemen could lend me a hand in vetting and pricing these guys and how to best go about that.

I will say it's nice to be back posting and looking through the forum, it brings back allot of good memories and feelings of being young again.

Thank you!

Welcome back! The military always affects people in any number of ways. I was in the Guard and Reserves for 20 years, plus some time in the 'sandbox'. What was your MOS? While I was in, I qualified 13B (Artillery); 19E (Cav. Tanker); 19K (M1 Tanker); 11B (Infantry); 63J (small engine repair) I know, how did that last one get in there!? (simple... I wanted to do my training at Aberdeen Proving Ground when I was with that unit!)

Would you happen to have a Wurt. M15?

I was an 11B of course, you can't be a German military history fanatic without experiencing the life and trials of an Infanteyman.

LOL, yes, I suppose that's true! I still wonder why former 11B's can't wear their cord when they transfer to other types of units, but pilots who've lost their flight status can still wear their wings... I suppose they tell 11B's they should get the infantry badge in that case. Joe would know.... :)
