I still can't get enough of people who ask a fortune for a helmet. I understand they are over 100 years old, but really, common? Before you advertise it for sale, really consider the CONDITION and scarcity of your piece...

Check out these dreamers:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Model-1889-Prussian-Guard-Officers-Ulhan-Regiment-Nr-3-Tschapka-Helmet-/301871121246?hash=item4648ebc35e:g:tA8AAOSwFNZWvfPJ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and

:P

I hope you are kidding about that tschapka because it looks like someone tried to convert a pickelhaube and then put a $3000 price tag on it :-P

Of course he is kidding. Bruno wouldn't pick that thing out of a ditch. And yes it's home made. :thumbsdown:

Yes...."ratty and mickey" have certainly had fun chewing on that liner but..... a totally bogus piece. That seller has a long history of bogus items.

Another piece from one of the same sellers, asking WAY to much for only god knows what it is....?

Recent Indian-made copy that generally goes for about $100...with a Wurtt. cockade. :-&

See another seller's similar item that's honestly marked...

Even if he has e few good ones, I would not grant this guy a sell.
If your first helmet is one of his fakes, the hobby can be finished before it even begun.

Real or Fake ?

Here's another beauty with a dream price:

Yes, unrealistic price but at least it is real and not made in India. Good to see though, that the M15 Garde wappen ($1,000) is still available on ebay. I am really going to miss seeing that listing when some smart collector finally buys it!

Yup, but to quote Groucho Marx, "I'm a dreamer, Montreal?" :wink:

Groucho's humor (and English) might be a little odd for some, it's a play on a song title, "I'm a Dreamer, Aren't We All?"

Hmmm...never seen that quote before but I do not doubt that Groucho did a gig or two in Montreal. Montreal is cool but I like the old town part of Quebec City with it's 1600's architecture better.
