Right, I love you too

Anybody pick up on the fact that the JR94 soldat is a trumpeter? You can see the wrapping on the instrument as well as the silver mouth piece next to the bride's dress. Note too the extra strap on his shoulder on the left side (his right).

The new winner and undisputed champion of UBS! Can you imagine having a blown up picture of this on your wall for your entire life–and then handing it down to your children–our daughter just got married and had marriage pictures displayed of all the families–very touching. I wonder what they did?

I have amused myself a lot with these series of serious or unhappy looking brides. :D

But on the other hand there is a serious side to this phenomenon too. Pardon me, for mentioning this here.
Anyway, I think to the German morals of those times is was not done for a young lady and especially ("a still virgin") bride on her wedding day to smile on pictures. Besides, these brides had no pleasant future prospect with all these possibilities of losing their new husbands, being killed on the many fronts, or returning home, handicapped for life, or after a period of being P.O.W.
In contrary to the men of those times, the women did realize this more often than their testosteron driven men.

I do not want to spoil the good atmosphere here, so please, continue with amusing us, including me, with posting more of this stuff. :) Thanks a lot!

For a change, here is a happier looking one...
