Greeting. I'm new. I have a copy of Robert Rankin's book, "Helmets and Headress of the Imperial German Army 1870-1918", and it is inscribed to me by the author. The inscription isn't dated, by I believe it occurred in 1973 or 4 when I had the great good fortune to work alongside "Bob" in the NHQ of the Selective Service System, Washington, D.C.
My point in writing this to to inquire as to the value of this small book (I'm not interested in selling it; at least, not yet; but I am eighty years old and have to be thinking about sparing my wife the burden of disposing of much of my accumulated paraphenalia before I die.) and it occured to me that this organization would be uniquely qualified to estimate the book's value.
When new, the book was listed for $9.50. It has 152 pages and many illustrations.
