Postcard sent on 22nd of April, 1915.
The soldier is reporting his uncle that the address of his unit changed into the following:
Belgische Gebirgsbatterie
6. Landwehrdivision
Armeeabteilung Gaede
Belgische Gebirgsbatterie is 100% in the text, but this makes no sense at all, probably a Freudian slip. We don't even have any real mountains here. Hills dreaming of being mountain, maybe.
Xip also found out that "Rohrvorlauf" refers to a rapid-fire differential recoil system. Maybe, this is something only used on some types of mountain artillery?
On the the picture, which is also very interesting: 5 men armed with the Kar98 and a single M1909 ammo pouch. Superbe are their extra jackets, anoraks. I've seen similar jackets on mountain troops, but this exact kind, I'm not sure...
Anyone?
