Yes, such helmets were used during the Crimean War. But the soldiers did not like these helmets for the fact that it is heavy and uncomfortable and often fought in his cap

Nice helmet,and nicely restored.Indeed it must be very difficult to wear in battle,with the height of it.Thanks for showing it and the extra pictures of the Crimean war. :thumb up:

Excellente Sergei!! I can not imagine fighting while wearing that helme, the pressure on your neck would have been very painful.
