When you're the second-highest bidder you will always be outbid by 1 euro, that's the way Ebay works. The actual bid of the winner can have been much higher, if that's any consolation.

I know Lars, it's just the way E-bay works. I was on it, and had the highest bid, but somebody had a bid that was higher. And so I lost.
I would have liked the book to be here, but hey, another one will for sure show up.

Or you could be like me at the last Kube auction when I hoped to win 'the Saxon Garde Reiter
Officer S / T pair .I bid high and was blown out of the water
the winning bid was so much higher than mine , I couldn't reach it
with a 10 Ft. pole !
