Hello,
Here is a recently acquired Saxon Wartime Steel Belt Buckle. I think the maker mark of "RTD" stands for Robert Tummler of Dobeln in Saxony.
This is the first example of a Saxon Belt Buckle by this maker that I have ever seen. It is also the first Imperial German buckle with this style of catch that I have ever seen.
The leather tab is nicely marked: "R. Max Phillipp, Niederschlema I Erzg., 1916"
I look forward to your comments.
All the Best,
Alan
