Saxon cockade question

Dear All

I was wondering what your thoughts were on those cockades..... Have they been repainted or are they in in a state consistent with normal ageing?

They belong to an OR ersatz helmet. No apparent marking.

Many thanks

Best

Alex

Look good to me as well. Is there any sign of the sunburst helmet plate imprinted in the lacquer. That may give you an additional clue that you are dealing with an original Saxon helmet.

Thank you to All for your responses.

The helmet is one of those typical composite helmets manufactured by the State of Saxony and the star has dented the shell in a consistent way. I am therefore quite certain it is a Saxon helmet.

I will check on the cockades material.

They look good to me did you take a look at the back of the cockades?

Regards,

Edwin
