As described in J-L Larcade's Volume I-page 114 -from the Friesé Collection-in Fort de la Pompelle. (last picture).
-Some pictures of the Friesé collection "Football" helmet at the Fort de la Pompelle Collection and a picture of the same helmet in the modern display. It seems the helmet has received "a bit" of polish before being allowed in the new display...seems that they blackened everything ? Even the Wappen ...shoeshine...?

I'd be happy to try. But the leather strap is still closed in its original form and I don't want to change anything. Inside is gray coarse fabric with the stamped size 57
