As I look at his helmet, I now notice an officers pearl ring on the throat of the spike
and studs in place of stars.
Maybe a private purchase or the helmet might be a photo studio prop?
He is not a one year volunteer.

He does have NCO collar buttons though. The helmet is unusual…..M91 posts, leather chin strap, large Saxe kokarde, officer spike and officer visor trim.
