I want to let members here to know that on September 19th, 2024, I began receiving unsolicited email messages from Peter Nardini of "Saxonia Militaria" in the UK. He is repeatedly begging me to help him by purchasing an "Apple Gift Card" and sending it to his niece as a "birthday" gift. This is one of the oldest scams on the internet. The email account this person is using is from the Saxonia Militaria website in the UK. Approximately 5 or 6 years ago I purchase a couple of small pickelhaube related items from him, and he is using this same established email address for his unsolicited contact with me. I do not know if this is actually Peter Nardini currently using this same email account, or a hacker that has gotten into his email system. The header in his email states: "Keeping in touch". Regardless of whether or not this is really him or a hacker, I will NOT purchase an Apple gift card for him, and I have blocked him from sending me any further email messages as he is making himself into a literal real pest in his repeated unwanted messaging.

I am curious if he is contacting any other members here who may have purchased something from him in the past.

Best Wishes,

Alan

Yes Alan, I also recieved the same message allegedly from Peter on the same date. There was something a bit 'off' about the choice of words which made me suspect that it was a fake so I immediately deleted it and have received no further messages since. I also bought some things from Peter a few years back and think it highly likely his email address has been appropriated by a scammer. I wondered if I should alert him to this but suspected that anyone hijacking his account would probebaly be the recipient of any email I sent - so I held off.
I do not know of any phone number for him ( he spends a lot of time working abroad as an architect) but if one exists I would definitely use it to warn him.

Thanks Alan, for the warning.
It's a scam that's become commonplace. I also received a hacked e-mail in the name of a friend, asking me for money to help him out. I called the friend on the phone, he confirmed that the address had been hacked, and I “deleted” the fraudulent e-mail.
