OK, Cloclo nailed it!
The LGR100 was very special and was allowed to wear white chinscales in the garrison and for parades but not in the field.
The exception for the 2 Companies of the ER2 with gilt chinscales and otherwise white fittings still remains.

For the officers helemts of LGR 100 the stars must be silver
The Pioneer officers stars are gilt
not sure if it is the same for the enlisted man's helmet
