Schlesisches Infanterie Regiment 62

Hello to all the regimental experts.

I acquired this brass plaque. It lists 26 names of noble officers. The only information I could find on Wikipedia is that Lieutenant Colonel von Wagenhoff was commander of the Silesian Infantry Regiment 62 in 1893.

Can anyone imagine what this plaque was made for? A farewell gift?

I transcribed all the officers' names because they are difficult to read in the photo.

In Canada we often have similar listings, but often on photos, of past officers from a regiment. Maybe it was something that was hung in an Officer's Mess or a barracks?

Unfortunately, you're mistaken. We're talking about Dragoon Regiment 12 in the period 1896/97.

Lieutenant Colonel von Wagenhoff was promoted to lieutenant colonel on June 18, 1895, and Major von Bodecker only to major on September 1, 1896.

From the 1897 roster (Dragoon Regiment 12 from Gnesen):
