Scroll helmet bis

For my first post, you well will certainly laugh. I bought a felt helmet R 22 . The frontplate is out of zinc. The spike is in iron. The cocarde and jugular are clearly fakes. The felt is not thicker than that of the ball hat .
In fact everything you already knew.
I bought bcause I find it a curiosium and it gives me te possibility to offer you clear colour pictures of all parts.
Allready strange is that I found in the "Musée royal militaire" of Brussels a felt helmet as thin as this one, but in black felt with al the M 91 attributes (eagle, spike, jugular etc... in brass !!! )
Do you think other fakes in felt were made ?
Thank you
Regards

Michel

PS : Here are the pictures

Hello Michel,
I'm sorry to do so, but here's some sad news I guess...
This all started out as a search for Reserve Infantry Regiment 22. Clearly this was a unit that served in France and unfortunately has been the subject of many reproduction. My understanding is that there were two waves of reproductions. One came from the old Czechoslovakia and was easily spotted as the filz was "squishy" instead of very stiff. The second wave came from Great Britain and could most easily be spotted by a brown leather like trim around the helmet. The example in the Johansson book is a type 3 with cut out letters. Most of the reproductions seem to have embossed letters.
I suggest you read the following article on Joe's site and then you will find all the answers:

Hello Adler,

Thank's. I knew before I bought, but I see it as a "curiosium" or curiosity ! Maybe it is a little bit stupid, but I like that "thing"
