Just like the toy cowboy hats that come with the cap guns are fake too, 'sept they are made out of plastic now, oddly enough, just like some of the new fake helmets.pointystuff said:He's making a joke about the traditional use of "X" in felt hat labels...a 1X felt hat would be so flimsy that it would have a border sewn on for strengthening it. The "BA 1X" is a bogus stamping that comically and coincidentally brings to mind low-quality felt hats.![]()
The helmet is a fake.

Gustaf, I think some understood it, but I'm glad it was explained (.... a Ron thing?.... )! It IS rather funny and it's nice to add the 'IX' to our lexicon of terms regarding haberdashery!

Brad: Thanks for coming to the rescue
So is it fake??![]()
Gustaf said:It occurred to me that this is such an iconic fake, that eventually, it will be collectable as well, as an example, I have a British 10 pound note from 1934 that is fake, but it is an important part of history, and no collection of banknotes is complete without a Bernhard counterfeit.
